What is the difference between the Free and Pro versions?

The Free version of NGFB from WordPress.org is a full-featured, stable and well supported plugin. The Pro version builds on this solid base by adding support for NextGEN Gallery v1.x and v2.x albums, galleries and images (shortcodes, image tags, album / gallery preview images, etc.), e-commerce products (Easy Digital Downloads, MarketPress WordPress eCommerce, WP e-Commerce, and WooCommerce), tighter integration with SEO plugins (WordPress SEO by Yoast and All in One SEO Pack), website APIs (Wistia, Bitly, Google, Youtube, etc.), enhanced customization features for each individual Post and Page, image upscaling (enlargement), a file cache for social images and JavaScripts (to further improve the page load times), and much more.

Upgrading to the Pro version is simple and easy:

  1. Click on the “Purchase the Pro Version” button located on any NGFB settings page.
  2. Purchase the plugin easily and quickly through Paypal.
  3. Seconds after, you will receive an email with your Authentication ID and installation notes.
  4. Enter your Authentication ID in the NGFB Pro Licenses settings page.
  5. Update the plugin from within WordPress (like any other plugin update).

Multisite Aware

The Pro version license(s) can also be assigned to the whole multisite network and/or to specific sites within the multisite network.

Take note — The default site / blog must be licensed to allow Pro version updates from the Network Admin interface.

  1. just reading this FAQ,
if i understand it correctly if i just want to use facebook Integration i don’t need the pro version ?
we’re a small non profit fan based comunity that share pictures of our company trucks where we work.
what i’m looking for is a plugin that shares both ways.
so when i post something on WP it shows on the facebook fan page,
but i also would like to have the option that it works the otherway arround,
so i post something on our facebook fanpage it also shows on our WP site perhaps including comments
is this possible with this plugin.

i tried the official facebook plugin but it has the worse Documentation,
and most of the guides are outdated

thnx for any reply or help

    • NGFB generates meta tags in WordPress posts/pages, so that when a URL is shared on social websites, those social websites can retrieve the necessary information from the post/page (image, description, author, product info, etc.). You can think of it as similar to SEO (Search Engine Optimization), but for social sites instead.

The retrieval of wall posts and/or comments from Facebook requires another kind of plugin. Some plugins might do both, but I’m not sure they would do it well. ;-)

You can always install the Free version of NGFB from https://wordpress.org/plugins/nextgen-facebook/ and see if its features fulfill some of your requirements. And yes, if you’re just looking at Facebook, the Free version is excellent. The Pro version adds support for Twitter Cards and 3rd-party plugins (galleries, e-commerce, etc.).
